Thematic atlas of Scouting

The aim of the thesis is to create a thematic atlas of the Scouting, which will present the Scout movement through maps and additional text, images and graphs. Partial goals are to obtain suitable data related to the Scouting at the regional, Czech and world level, as well as spatial data serving as a topographical basis and to process them into maps using suitable cartographic methods. Theoretical part is focused on the Scouting and the literature dealing with thematic cartography is researched. The practical part describes the creation of the atlas itself, and the output of the work is the Atlas of Scouting created in ArcGIS Pro and Scribus software. Thematic atlas of the Prague islands

The aim of the work is to create a thematic atlas, the content of which are maps of selected lesser-known Prague islands, mostly inaccessible by foot. The partial goals are the identification of all islands in Prague using spatial data and analysis, evaluation of existing and acquisition of own spatial data, which are then used to create detailed maps of selected islands and processing of an atlas with additional texts and images. In theoretical part, literature and available sources of data on the Prague islands are researched and the work is placed in the context of cartography. The practical part describes the whole process of the atlas compilation, from the identification of individual islands through field survey to cartographic processing of the obtained spatial data and finalization of the resulting work. The output of the work is the Thematic Atlas of the Prague Islands, which was made made using ArcMap and InDesign software. Key words Prague, islands, thematic atlas, thematic cartography
Thematic atlas of the Seventh-day Adventist Church

The main aim of the thesis is to create a thematic atlas of the Seventh-day Adventist Church to describe essential information about the Church through maps which are accompanied by texts, pictures and graphs. Partial goals are to obtain suitable spatial data related to the Seventh-day Adventist Church and to use thematic cartography methods which finally formed related maps. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the presentation of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the summary of literature dealing with thematic cartography. These findings are put into practice in the practical part and the output of the thesis is the thematic Atlas of the Seventh-day Adventist Church created in ArcMap and InDesign softwares. Digital atlas of the South Bohemian region

Abstract: Konečná, A. (2013): Digital atlas of the South Bohemian region. Bachelor thesis. Department of Geography at University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, České Budějovice, 73 s. One of the aims of this bachelor thesis was a complex geographical analysis of the South Bohemian region based on the achieved and selected data, where the preference was given to the data provided by the South Bohemian Regional Council. It was stated and indicated in the overview of the data gained by this institution. After having created a simple concept of the atlas, I have chosen 15 topics which were accompanied by specially created demonstrative maps and analytical texts. The important constituents during the creation were founding of a contact with the Regional Council, and final process of the publishing of the maps using the programme ArcGIS Online, which allows further work and sharing of the maps.
The conception of Atlas of the Southbohemian region.

This diploma paper deals with proposing Atlas of the Southbohemian region. This thematic atlas is based on regional level. Thanks to its character the atlas permeates all important parts of geography and is getting the most important information source about the region. Opening chapters deal with aims of the paper and with scientific literature which is accessible to this topic. Other chapter is concentrated on evaluation of regional atlases which are connected to the territory of the Czech Republic. Essential part of this paper is the analysis of the data accessibility in regional level. There is introduced also the proper design of sections of the Southbohemian Atlas, together with a conception of single geographic papers. Exemplary geographic papers can help with creating visual imagination.
